Hi everyone! Welcome to Encouraging Friday! Just so you know what this is, this is a day to gain encouragement from the Word of God and from others. God knew 6,000 years ago that we would have troubles...so he wrote his Word. What we're going do every Friday is take a verse from the Bible, and maybe a song or something else and I'll post it here. But you can help. If God speaks to you about something that encourages you, please feel free to comment on this or other posts and post it. So here's our verse for today:
Psalm 55:17 ”Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and He shall hear my voice.”
I need this. I don't know about you, but I sometimes feel like if I pray it won't help anything. But I need to remember that when we pray, God does hear our voice and that he knows what we need and will do what's best for us. I found a couple songs I could post...but after praying about it I decided on Josh Wilson's "Fall Apart."
"Why in the world did I think I could
Only get to know You when my life was good
When everything just falls in place
The easiest thing is to give You praise
Now it all seems upside down
'Cause my whole world is caving in
But I feel You now more than I did then
How can I come to the end of me
And somehow still have all I need
God, I want to now You more
Maybe this is how it starts
I find You when I fall apart"
This song is good to hear because it reminds us that God promised that all things work together for good for those who love God and those who are called according to his purpose. One of those good results from trials is that we come closer to God. We find him when we fall apart. To view the album the song comes from on itunes, click here. Another word of encouragement: just a few weeks ago my brother Wyatt was in the hospital and losing blood with a bunch of people praying for him. He was out of the hospital and cured after four days. God truly is good and he does answer prayer. I hope all this encourages you. God bless you!
